2010 State Tournament Moves to Squaw Valley
For 2010 the TALG State Championship Tournament will move to the Squaw Valley Golf Complex in Glen Rose, on Hwy 67, approx. 60 miles southwest of Dallas. The Apache Links Course and the Comanche Lakes Course were ranked 5th and 6th in the Dallas Morning News section "Texas Golf 2010" in the list of the Top 25 Mid-priced Courses published in March of this year. In order to increase participation, the format will be changed to a lefty/partner format. Lefties will be encouraged to bring a right-handed partner (limit one). Lefties without partners will be paired together to form a 2-person team. Details of the scoring process for the team competition are to-be-determined but, as usual, the Lefty State Competition will be conducted by stroke play within the team event.
Glen Rose is located only 17 miles from Granbury, one of our most popular tournament sites in recent years. For spouses and friends, a day in Granbury is great and there are two evening venues there, The Opera House and Granbury Live, each offering a fun Friday or Saturday night out. The tournament entry package, with all the details, including hotels and entertainment venues, will be sent out around the first of May. If you are interested, send us an email to the address listed on the "Contact Us" page of this website. |
